In 2012, Ms. McDonnell was named Vice Chair of the Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania and to the Board of The American Council of Life Insurers. Previously, she was President of New England Financial, a wholly owned subsidiary of MetLife, and Senior Vice President of the Guardian Life Insurance Company. Ms. McDonnell is a former member of the Master of Science in Management faculty at The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where she held the newly endowed chair for Women and Financial Services and was author of “Marketing Financial Services to Women.”
With all four of her grandparents hailing from various counties in Ireland– Sligo, Mayo, Clare and Leitrim—Ms. McDonnell is proud of her Irish heritage. Her personal story, “A Granddaughter’s Journey” was highlighted in the New York Times on July 22, 2012.
